Ford Car Insurance: Ford Ka Insurance

Ford Car Insurance: Ford Ka Insurance

The Ford Ka arrived in 1996 and is still in production today, seeing two generations so far. The Ford Ka is classed as a city car and it has in fact Ka been the best selling car in its class here in the UK for a number of years. This car was like Marmite shortly after its initial release, with the egg shape not being welcomed by all, but in time it has proven to be a winning design. The MK2 Ford Ka looks much alike the MK2 Toyota Yaris and it looks like Ford were inspired there with the second Yaris arriving in 2005 and the second Ka arriving in 2008. For the lowest Ka insurance, you will have to go for the MK2.

This model is the MK2 Ford Ka Studio that is a 1.2 litre car (1242cc) and stands at the insurance group #1/20 and #3/50; there are a few 2010 models such as the Edge and Tattoo that have the same #3/50, but there is no #/20 (due to its new age), but I’d go with the Studio for it being a cheaper car to buy. The original MK1 Ford Ka started bigger and so will always cost more to insure. These 1.3 litre injected cars (1297cc) will jump in insurance for some of the models, but for the standard early model, the Ka2 and the Studio you will be looking at #2/20 and #10/50. What is interesting about the very early Ka models is that you can pick one of them up from 1996, 1997 or 1998 for around the £500 mark, which is relatively cheap.
